Inked

Oh Adam Levine...how I love looking at thee!

I have always wanted to get a tattoo, however, I'm just completely undecided as to what I want and where I would want it. I just know it has to represent me and nobody else.

At first I looked different symbols in Chinese, Arabic, and Japanese that described a Dancer, to dance, or love. Next I looked into butterflies, but I never really felt close to those either. However, these searches have caught my attention...

Coffee Talk: Part Deux

I love getting together for Coffee Talk with Natalie Blair! This is week two of this fun adventure and I think I am liking loving it!!!

1. What is your favorite kind of coffee? Iced? Hot? Frappe? Or are you a tea kind of person?
Oooooh... Well, I love my coffee iced or hot. My go to coffee is Starbucks' Grande Skinny 3-pump Mocha.

I just downloaded the Starbucks App to my iPhone and it is AWESOME! I can save my drinks the way I like them, and if I'm going to pick up coffee for my friends, I can include their drinks orders too! That way I never get it wrong.' My favorite Starbucks seasonal flavors are Pumpkin Spice Latte and the Caramel Brulee Latte. Before Starbucks, I hated coffee....thank you Starbucks!

I did however stumble upon a Caribou coffee shop in one of my DC trips and their Mocha was delish too! If they ever open a store up in Miami...hmmm, at least I have their K-cups to keep me happy at home ;)

2. What is your dream computer/laptop? And what kind are you using now?
I don't really have a "dream" computer/laptop. I must say though, that my MacBook Pro is pretty freaking AMAZEBALLZZZ!!

3. Have you ever regretted a blog post? What did you say?
I have written things in the past that I have deleted. During that time I didn't really have a lot of followers so the blog was mostly for me. And although I wrote my feelings out, certain things I wrote, I did not want these to be a part of me. I know...accept who you are and blah, blah, blah. I did, I just didn't think I was in the right place at that time :)

4. What is your favorite book?
I am a non-reader, although I know I should probably pick up a book and my reading glasses! I guess I could say that my favorite book(s) are the Harry Potter series. I have YET to visit Hogmeade and Hogswarts in Universal Studios!

5. What's in your bag?
Gah...you really want to see? I have receipts, my cosmetics bag with my fab Falsies mascara, lip gloss *pucker up*, pimple cream, wallet, advil for that time of the month, keys, cell phone, Starbucks gift card, and my healthy snacks (I am always on the go).

You mean you've read all this and haven't linked up with Natalie Blair yet? WHAT?!
DO IT!

20 Years and 3 Thousand Miles Away

I have to say I am a lucky lady.

via

How is it that after 20 years and 3 thousand miles away I am still able to stay in contact and see my childhood friends. I have to say this is pretty cool.

When I first moved to the States, I'd write and send them letters, talk on the phone every so often. Well, now we have Facebook and WhatsApp so the distance just gets smaller every time!

Luckily, Gaby moved to Miami a year after I did. We went to the same middle school so we got to hang out a lot. A few years later, Marysol went to college in Miami while living with her sister. Unfortunately, I went away to college, so I didn't see her as often as I would've wanted to. But in between Micaela and Claudia would always come to visit.  To top it off, Claudia moved to Miami about 2 years ago, so although now we are all older and have more responsibilities, we love getting together at the drop of a hat!

This week I got a surprise phone call from Claudia, telling me to drop everything because Micaela was visiting and we would be getting together tomorrow!

Tomorrow!? Well...OF COURSE!

Fast forward, heavy thunderstorm and a deluge falling on top of Gaby and I....and off we go to meet the crew in South Beach. No, we didn't go clubbing, some of us have children, a job, and a 1 hour car ride to get home. But we did share some drinks and a Frrrrozen Hot Chocolate :)

AndiePants, Micaela, Gaby, Emilia, & Claudia

Did I mentioned Micaela brought her little sister Emilia who I had not seen since she was crawling and in diapers? MAN, I felt old!

Have you moved away from your hometown and still keep in touch with old friends?

About Life and Love: Sex and the City

Hi there my little peepsqueaks!

I hope you are doing wonderful!!! I've had a busy week to say the least! But that's just my life at work. I promised myself that this year, I would not let work get in the way of my life. That I wouldn't let it stress me out and keep me from sleeping at night. Although work is still a pain in the @$$, I finally feel that I am enjoying what I am doing.

I think what is helping me now is exercise. Going to the gym or going for a run tires me out, puts me to sleep, AND it gives me the endorphines I need. You know, those are the happy chemicals that make you feel excited and have you see everything in a different light.

I was looking through some of my draft posts and found these quotes! Who knew that Sex and the City had so much to do with my life! I've always thought of me as the Charlotte type though....with Miranda's work ethic, Samantha's love for the night life, and Carrie's love for NYC ;)

"Maybe mistakes are what make our fate...without them what would shape our lives? Maybe if we had never veered off course we wouldn't fall in love, have babies, or be who we are. After all, things change, so do cities, people come into your life and they go. But its comforting to know that the ones you love are always in your heart...and if you're very lucky, a plane ride away." -Carrie, Sex and the City.

"That's the thing about relationships. Sometimes they look prettier on the outside, and what's inside can be different than it seems." -Carrie, Sex and the City.

"So just live, make mistakes, and have a wonderful time, but never ever second guess who you are, where you have been, and most importantly where it is you are going." -Carrie, Sex and the City

"When it comes to relationships, maybe we're all in glass houses, and shouldn't throw stones. Because you can never really know. Some people are settling down, some are settling and some people refuse to settle for anything less than butterflies..."  -Carrie, Sex and the City.

"Maybe the past is like an anchor holding us back. Maybe you have to let go of who you were to become who you will be."  -Carrie, Sex and the City.

Coffee Talk: Pea Coats and Coffee Cake

Today I'm linking up with Natalie Blair for some Coffee Talk!!!

I have to admit I giggled a little when I read "Coffee Talk". It reminds me of that SNL skit with the New York Jewish ladies in the morning....now, I'm a bit verkemplent....talk amongst yourselves!
Anyways...here goes....something:

1. It's finally fall! What are you looking forward to this year?
Cooler weather! I live in Miami and we hardly get "winter". Last year we had all but 2 cold fronts! Not enough time for me to wear my pea coats and scarves! (Yes, I own wayyyy too many coats and in different colors!)

2. What fall item is in your closet that you can't wait to pull out?
I'd say more than one item!!! I love my coats, scarves, and my boots! I'm a Miami girl, but I looooove cooler weather!

3. Since Halloween is the first holiday to celebrate, we all get treated with a horror movie marathon all month long... what is your favorite scary movie to watch?
Hmmm, I don't have a favorite scary movie, but I can't wait to watch The Walking Dead this fall! If I had to pick one, I'd probably say The Ring.

4. What is your favorite fall treat? (recipes welcome)
I love me some Pumpkin Spice Latte! An old friend shared a coffee cake recipe with me and its delish! I like making it too! I'll post it soon and link it back to this post ;)

5. Now that summer is finally over, what will you miss most about it?
It's always summertime here, so I never really miss summer. Heehee....I guess I'd miss going to the beach so often. Love having my toes in the sand and the water nearby.

Thankful Thursday: Turn your luck around!

Hello lovelies! Sorry about my mini absence, oh yeah, and I've also been a bad bloggy friend :(
The last few days have been quite busy and interesting. I've even considered diagnosing myself with ADHD....I trip over myself, I fall, I forget, and I lose things. So after a couple of days of sulking and considering seeing a doc, I've come to the conclusion that I will just have to find different strategies to overcome feeling lost and confused everyday, ha!

On the bright side, I have started my Inspire Me Healthy steps to my goal! I've been going to the gym more frequently this week and I hope to continue doing it!

I've had some amazing moments that I am thankful for in the past week:

*  Having an amazing hubby to come home to.
*  My parents, because they have creative solutions to stay positive.
*  "It's not lost, just temporarily not where it should be."
*  The sound of rain.
*  The sun's rays peeking through the morning clouds.
*  Friends that check up on you just because.
*  Colleagues that are willing to help you in the blink of an eye.
*  My Nonna and Mama, because although they are not physically with me, they guide me daily.
*  My LUCK, because I know it has turned around ;)

Love you all lovelies! Hope your Thursday is amazing!

Repeat Sundays: K-pop!

Did you watch the VMA's this week?
Well, I didn't, but somehow hubby picked up on the latest trend hitting the airwaves in parts of the world...what is it? It's...

K-POP!

K-POP is Korean Pop Music that features a handful of fun music genres. A South Korean man by the name of Psy, pokes fun at himself and creates a catchy, funny tune that just makes me laugh, and yes, it even makes me want to get up and dance!!!

Get ready to laugh your ass off, yeah...and ask what the F*** is he doing!

Did you get up and rock the Gangnam Style dance?

Pssst.....I did!

I Think I Can Dance....errr Drink

Oh My Lyrical and Contemporary Gaaahhhh!
It's Nick Lazzarini and Travis Wall from So You Think You Can Dance and All The Right Moves!
Ok...now deep breath in....out....

These boys are as beautiful in person as they are funny and sweet :)
I love meeting "famous" people, and by "famous" I mean those individuals that people other than my close friends recognize, haha! I tend to play 6 degrees of separation, and therefore, everyone's got a bit of fame in my book! Maybe I'll even take a picture with these celebrities if I'm looking halfway decent! Don't get me wrong, I am no paparazzo nor do I chase stars down Ocean Drive on South Beach. However, if the right amount of liquid courage is poured (a.k.a. lots of liquor is inhaled), I can become so uber ballzy, that I will even talk to you like if I'm your new BFF!!

Trust me, I have no business striking up a conversation with you unless I've had a few. Yeah, I know they are regular people, however, I'm somewhat nervously shy and hate small talk because it makes me feel awkward! I know...I'm a little crazy. Therefore tons of liquid courage is highly suggested!

I had already "met" Travis last year at the same club and around the time "Step Up Revolution" was being filmed in Miami, although he was not on set when I was filming scenes in the movie (click HERE to read more on my "movie stardom", totally kidding...but its pretty funny actually). At the moment when my friend Kelly spotted him while dancing, I was like..."SSQQUUUEEEEEEEE!!!!! They are herrrrreeee!!!!!!! *HICCUP* Travis is awesome! But I want Nick!!!! *mini hiccup* He is an amazing dancer too!" So after 4 glasses of wine and 2 vodka drinks just like that, I made BFF's with Nick because I recognized him! He was so hilariously funny the whole time, and I don't recall him ever giving me the "Get this drunk b!tch off of me" look. The tragic part of it all, is that hubby got more out of Travis than I did. So...yeah...maybe I should cool off on the drinks, but we had had wine and tapas earlier that night, and the club drinks were just the icing on the drunky cake...how did I not wake up with a hangover the next day...not sure but it was funny and a super fun night!

I even heard JLo's dancers were at the club...too bad I can't play 6 degrees with them! ha!

Have you ever met a celebrity?
Who was it and how did it go?
