Get Artsy - Wynwood Art Walk

I felt extremely artsy with my friends the other day.
Who doesn't love being a tourist in their own city... and for FREE!?!

I was "HERE"...no really, I was!

The Design District and Wynwood areas in Miami have several designer shops, art galleries, and warehouses. Every second saturday of the month, they open their doors to the public so they can view, visit, and purchase art and meet the artists. What better place to go and get your artsy fartsy on?!

On April...after many months of begging, my friends and I finally made it out to the Wynwood Art Walk.
It was a great place to meet up with friends, see lots of art, eat some grub, drink some good booze, and hang out with the local hipster crowd.

Floppy Disk Art!

If you are creative enough, you will find that you can make art out of almost ANYTHING!
But now that I say that, do you have the tools to do this?
If you do...what are you waiting for?!?

No trip out with these fools is without it's good food...so FOOD TRUCKS we found!

Old School Nintendo game controller drawn on the sidewalk with chalk.

Afraid that the bench below them will break!

That artist responsible for the bright walls designed her own drawings and sold them as stickers!
Kawaii Universe

A must...a stop to one of the many watering holes in the area...Wood Tavern!

Some of mah beeshes!!!

And this is why...

When was the last time you were a tourist in your own city?

Retro Girrrrlllll

Well hello there little chickies!

I convinced the hubs to take more pictures of me in this little get up, so I must warn you:
1. Hubby is not a photog and can't take direction well.
2. Camera doesn't shake, but angles and backgrounds are off, ha!
3. It was sunny as hell and I squinted a lot!
4. Most of my accessories are in boxes, so I was limited in my choices.

But the real reason why this adventure happened is because some time ago eShakti contacted me to conduct a product review and well, I couldn't resist!
I had been eyeing some of their pieces on their website for some time.

eShakti is an online clothing company that customizes their pieces just for you. They carry sizes 0-36W and the different styles are made to fit your shape! First, you select the dress, skirt, blazer, and/or blouse. And oh my, there were so many to chose from!! Second, they ask for your measurements, this is how you know the dress is tailored just for you. I'd ask someone to help you take your measurements to get it just right! Then, you are asked if you'd like to customize your dress by adding or removing sleeves, increasing/decreasing the length of the skirt/dress, and/or adjusting the neckline.

And only a few days after I had hit 'submit', the dress arrived promptly!
The dress was beautiful! I chose it because I am in love with the retro style. The dress had great details, it was lined, with pleats on the right areas and it had pockets! The A-line style of the dress hid my pear shape body. I loved the way it fit and above all the colors and playfulness of the dress.

Are his photography skills getting better?
Or am I becoming a skilled photo editor?

Unicorn poop

Oh hai there little dumplings!

via
So happy you've come to visit my neck of the woods today! Guess it's been kinda bare, so I had to come back, let some unicorns loose, and have them spread glitter poop all over here! HA!

To give you a little update...nope, no casa...nope, I'm not preggers (then again I drop off the kiddos in the pool daily). Oh and some good things... yep, I've got a job (which means tons of report writing), yep I have food (which means I've gained 5 more pounds) and yep....I FOUND TIME TO BLOG!!!

Seriously folks, I was making a habit of opening my laptop only to write reports and catch up on work at home, but who wants to do that? I mean, sleepless nights and dreams of task, to-do lists, and meetings to look forward to?... *vomit*!

This is why today I bring you endless pictures of my new hobby...KICKBALL!!!

Our team name is Ball of Duty. Now, if you do not know why this is the name we used, you must not have a boyfriend/husband/son/brother who is hooked into a familiar video game that rhymes with our team name.

Stop staring at my ass already!

The team is mostly made up of my group of friends, but we picked up some "free agents" that are hilarious to hang out with.

Can you believe it's our third week/game and we finally had our first win after scoring 2 runs at the last inning!  Yeah, we are pretty lame!
